Carlee Mellow
Carlee Mellow works as a choreographer, performer, and teacher of yoga and dance. Over the last 15 years she has worked in both film and live performance collaborating with many choreographers and directors, touring nationally and internationally. Choreographers include Phillip Adams (BalletLab), Gideon Obarzanek (Chunky Move), Sandra Parker (Dance Works), Tracie Mitchell, Deborah Hay (US), Lisa Nelson (US), Russell Maliphant (UK), Rebecca Hilton, Ros Warby, Prue Lang (Fr), and Meryl Tankard. Directors include David Pledger (NYID), Chris Kohn (Stuck Pigs Squealing), Ana Kokkinos and Kate Denborough (KAGE). Carlee is the recipient of numerous grants and commissions, winning the Green Room Award for Best Emerging Dancer (1998), receiving a nomination for ‘Female Dancer' (2010) and 4 nominations for her solo work, EXPECTATION presented at Arts House (2011). Her choreographic work has been presented in Melbourne and Berlin and includes commissions by Dance Works (2006), Natalie Cursio's ‘The Album Project' at the Victorian Arts Centre (2007), Lucy Guerin Inc. (2008) and The Substation for Melbourne Fringe (2010). Other choreography includes Arena Theatre's Girl Who Cried Wolf (2008), Malthouse Theatre and Arena Theatre co-production of Goodbye Vaudeville Charlie Mudd (2009) and Oz Opera's La Traviata (2010). Carlee is currently working on two new projects - ‘The Recording' with Sandra Parker and ‘Hello, my name is...' with Nicola Gunn.
