Phillip Adams BalletLab is a leading contemporary dance company based in Melbourne. We work collaboratively with interdisciplinary artists to create and deliver artistic works and programs of excellence, including education and support for students, emerging dancers, choreographers and artists. Since establishing in 1998, PABL has toured widely, performing in Australia, North and South America and Asia. We have undertaken residencies in leading art centres in Germany, Canada, Mexico, USA, Croatia, Luxembourg and Turkey.

Temperance Hall is fast becoming Melbourne’s newest home for the most innovative and experimental contemporary art and performance work. Our biggest project to date and the next iteration of PABL’s work, Temperance Hall is the new company headquarters and studios at South Melbourne’s historic Temperance Hall with artist residence, rehearsal and main performance space. This not only consolidates our legacy but expands capacity in Melbourne, offering to the community a new dynamic space for creation, participation and spectatorship.

2017 highlights thus far include: 

- The critically acclaimed Australian premiere presentation of Jack Ferver's Mon, Ma, Mes (Revisite)

- The final stage development of new work EVER with Melbourne Chamber Orchestra 

- HardQueer DeathPony as part of Midsumma Festival

- a swathe of incredible independent artists across dance, performance, theatre and visual arts that have used the space for creative developments, showings and workshops.

In 2017, we need your urgent support to help with:

• the long-awaited World Premiere of EVER (Oct 2017).

In addition, our magnificent Temperance Hall requires significant cosmetic and infrastructure upgrades. These include

• sound equipment and specialized flooring for performance

• painting of the walls, doors and the grand stair case
